Dara Barley is a Technical Publication Specialist at INFICON, a manufacturing firm that provides chemical instrumentation for a wide range of industries. In this role she facilitates communication between the engineers and the customers through the use of technical documentation, training and online resources. Dara’s background is in Environmental Chemistry, and she has a Masters of Science from SUNY ESF. Dara has been active in STC CNY since joining.

Naomi Coufal is a technical writer for Liko, a division of Hill-Rom, at Welch Allyn. Naomi has her Master’s Degree in English and has worked in the medical device industry as a technical writer for approximately three years. Currently a member of a Research & Development team that designs patient lifts and transfer aids, Naomi’s first position as a technical writer was in Regulatory Affairs for a startup company where she researched, designed, and wrote the company’s quality systems manual and helped with writing an FDA 510(k) application. An energetic and lighthearted person, Naomi enjoys meeting and collaborating with other technical communication professionals and has been active in the chapter since joining earlier this year.
Bobbi Werner holds a BA in English and Television/Radio and an MA in English. She taught writing at Syracuse University for nearly 20 years and also developed a corporate training and technical writing business serving Niagara Mohawk, Lockheed Martin, New Venture Gear, United Healthcare, Philips Broadband, and several other corporations in the area. In 2000, these contract opportunities opened the door to full-time work as a writer. Bobbi joined Welch Allyn in 2008 and now works as Lead Technical Writer on her team. She is a leader in STC CNY and STC Rochester, as well as the international society, where she holds the rank of Associate Fellow. Bobbi has served as STC Treasurer and Program Manager for the past several years.
Sarah Rowe has a passion for increasing efficiency with information technology. In the spring of 2018 she expanded her business to include building websites, technical writing, and software training. Her formal education includes an MS in Information Technology and a BA in Sociology. This combination helps Sarah help people communicate efficiently and effectively using technology. Sarah is an active member of the Rochester WordPress Users Group and the WordCamp Rochester Event Committee. She also is an active leader with both the Rochester and Central NY chapters of the Society for Technical Communication. In 2018 she redesigned the CNY chapter website.
